It’s based in Hong Kong but distrubutes their products through business partners worldwide (such as Amazon). They pride themselves in producing quality products and produce them in their own factory before delivering them themselves to the customer.

Making the Clicgear 3.0

The updates to the Clicgear 3.0 were actually requests for features from existing customers using the older models and they listened and gave the people what they wanted. They have created the original and feature rich foldable push cart and has grown quickly to become the market leader over the last three years. The Clicgear 3.0 is their latest model with many new features and has become the official push cart of the American Junior Golf Assosciation. To quote their Clicgear 3.0 website:

We don’t sell golf carts ourselves we just review them but we have every faith in Amazon and they’ve been a household name for years, probably one of the safest places to buy online. They’re an authorized Clicgear 3.0 vendor, they have the lowest prices and great customer services if anything goes wrong. Everyone is shopping online these days since it’s cheaper and easier and these guys stock everything.

The reviews there cover everything you’d really want to know about the push cart. From one owners family describing it as a ‘tank’ because of how it handles over the various terrains of a course to how easy it is to roll around the green while you play. The Clicgear 3.0 has been designed to be sturdy and durable in any weather or conditions (I’ve seen more than a few golfers swing at what ever is closest out of frustration and they might well have had this in mind) but it’s also incredibly light unlike some carts so you don’t need to struggle with it or keep leaving it down. The idea behind the Clicgear 3.0 is actually to make your day on the green easier so you can spend your time actually playing, not struggling with a bag or cart.

In all of the reviews on Amazon the only bad word we could find was one owner catching their finger while folding it (nothing serious but it’s like stubbing your toe, it’s not something you’re happy about) but we didn’t really find this a problem. The instructions show how to easily fold and unfold the Clicgear 3.0 Push Cart and after one or two tries it quickly becomes second nature to do it as you need.

The Clicgear push carts are becomingly increasingly well known on the golf course these days and the Clicgear 3.0 are the latest to hit the course. I don’t want to rehash the old features but I thought I’d give a quick Clicgear 3.0 review on the overal benefits, the full feature list is included on the sticked post. It’s been a while since I’ve seen golf pull carts with this many features for this little amount. The Clicgear golf cart is probably one of the best buys around.

Golf carts in general are a great purchase and they can make everything so much easier which is what everyone wants for a good day on the course, it makes your day hastle free which leaves you to enjoy your game. I don’t think anyone enters a course anymore without push carts and Clicgear 3.0 is quickly becoming a well known name in the world of golf.

Most carts are simple design, some are heavy and take up a lot of space or are heavy and cumbersome and they’re usually missing out a lot of the features you could want. The Clicgear 3.0 is light, packs up easily and is easy to move around. It’s packed full of any feature you could want and probably a lot you didn’t know you wanted until you saw it. It also has a lot of clicgear accessories you can add to get even more out of it.

The folding system is simple and easier to use than every and they’ve increased the durability of the frame completly with scratch resistant aircraft grade tubing for the frame. It’s built to be used on the sunny or the wet days with the accessories and wheels designed with both in mind, it even features an over head umbrella feature.

It can be wheeled easily on flat tarmac, grass and sand wet or dry. The bar can change for both angle and height to fit any kind of player, the handle itself is padded and comfortable to use for days on end and it’s amazingly easy to navigate around the course while still folding easily into your cupboard or car when not in use. The breaking system has been changed from the original clicgear 2.0, it keeps your clicgear cart set in place even on a steep and wet incline.

I’ve been a fan of them since they’re earlier models but the clicgear model 3.0 update is as good as it’s going to get with a golf pushcart, there’s nothing they could actually add to it unless it started playing your game for you. There is no suprise that the Clicgear 3.0 is becoming the goto answer for push carts for walking golfers. It’s got a great price, great features and a great design.

The Clicgear 3.0 knock off – the Bag Boy Sidekick

While Clicgear was the original folding golf cart the Bag Boy sidekick is the closest ‘knock off’ to the Clicgear 3.0. It’s less popular, less compact, has less features but it is a little cheaper.

It could quite easily be mistaken for the clicgear models since the design is fairly similar, the wheels are a little different but still airless so you don’t need to worry about punctures or having to pump them up over time. The folding and break system is almost exactly the same, except it doesn’t fold down as much as the Clicgear 3.0 so it does require a little extra storage room.

Differences between the Clicgear 3.0 and the Bag Boy Sidekick

It has the same level of height and control customization and will handle pretty much the same type of bag. They use the same three wheel design as most carts but offer a simple ‘kick down’ which performs badly according to several users and takes extra effort to setup or store.

Several reviews for the bag boy commented on the poor quality accessories, such as the drink holder, which tend to break or come lose after only a few rounds on the green. The frame itself is also not built to the same standard, it won’t fall apart on you over night but it’s not going to last nearly as long. On the plus side, some people have commented on the good customer service they have in replacing the part, but I’d rather not have to replace it in the first place.

I’m a fan of walking golf because I think you get to experience a lot more of the game that way and I don’t like carrying my bag on a strap and worrying about it. The Bag Boy does a good job of maneuvering the golf course but the general consensus seems to be that it doesn’t handle or break as well as the Clicgear. It does weigh slightly less, but even when collapsed it’s larger than a folded clicgear cart.

It has your basic features like a storage unit and drink holder but it lacks some of the additional features you get from other carts. It comes in three different colors red, grey and navy so you do have a little choice, but not as much as others offer.

It’s a functional, foldaway golf cart which is still more portable and usable than some alternatives, but for a little extra you can get better quality with more features and it’s not something you’re likely to replace often. The bag boy has fallen behind on popularity on the course while living in the shadow of the original innovators of the collapsible cart.
